“Smart, sassy and sensational, Jane of Austin is a classic in its own right; a book worthy of placing next to its Austen inspired tome.”

REVIEW | Sometimes a wrapping can be deceiving, either for the good or bad. Other times it matches perfectly with the story we are about to step inside. Becky Wade’s novels fall into this ideal with class, grace and romcom bliss. Becky reemerged in the fiction game some five or six years back with the debut My Stubborn Heart, a story about a broken hockey player and the woman who helps him change. Then came the Porter’s, a family comprised of three elder brothers and their young, wild child of a sister Dru. Finally, we are honored to return to small-town Holley, Texas and meet the woman Dru grew up to be.   Continue reading “Her One and Only by Becky Wade – Fall Head Over Heels for This Romance”

REVIEW | Fixing things, whether broken or not, is Emily Price’s van Gogh. As an art restorer she’s passionate about righting anything that is “wrong” and anyone that hurts. From swooping in save her sister from her flighty behavior patterns therefore saving her from herself, to perfecting her work as a restorer, she likes projects. Her latest job takes her to Atlanta where two things happen. First, her life changes for the better… and coinciding with this euphoria is when everything falls apart. It’s Atlanta where she meets, Ben, an Italian chef who sweeps Emily off her feet. Their whirlwind romance leads them to Italy where Emily discovers long buried secrets in Ben’s family that changes everything. The mysterious blemish covering her face puts El in the “freaks” crowd at her school. But everything shifts when El loses her mother. This is when her entire life falls apart. To begin with, El discovers the next door neighbor (the boy she’s been crushing on), Joshua is anything but ordinary. Following this up, she learns there is an alternate world hidden within the New York she knows. Suddenly, El is thrust into a world of trolls, fierce warriors and a dangerous new romance. Review | For Rayne Shelby, accomplishing one career aspiration has become her purpose. Her long held dream has been to take over the family lodge. Her uncle keeps a tight rein on the family, but in his absence (traveling with her politician father as his campaign manager), Rayne is ready to step out of his shadow. And then she makes one mistake. A mistake that, in the eyes of her uncle, is proof positive she’s unable to “protect” the Shelby family name.

Levi is a successful business man whose past is riddled with scars. He’s also happens to have a soft spot for Rayne, and has ever since their senior year. Only trouble is, Levi is associated with the man, Rayne’s family blames for derailing their heritage. REVIEW: With each new novel an author publishes, I’d imagine there are jitters. No matter how practiced one is, losing that agitation over the release of a novel likely stays with you. In the Indie world of publishing, I’d guess such emotions are magnified given that, while there are many people who assist you with the story, you are in control of releasing the book you’ve poured tears and smiles into. One of my most favorite authors (ever) is Jenny B. Jones. I discovered her particular brand of bookish happiness when she was signed with Thomas Nelson (Harper Collins) and now, after many years away from the author-ing gig, she returns with a select few novels published in the Indie world. I’ll Be Yours is her latest, and by Jove, it’s not one to be missed.   Continue reading “I’ll Be Yours by Jenny B. Jones – A Five-Star Stunner for the Keeper Shelf”

…LIKE NEVER BEFORE is another fresh and inspiring story; it’s traditional without conforming, full of fantastic and snappy dialogue, and genuine in its pursuit of heart-tugging and pure love.

If you’re a fan of contemporary romantic-comedies, there is no story better to become blissfully lost in than one with Melissa Tagg’s name proudly streaming across its cover (especially when its as darling as Like Never Before). If you’re a fan of inspirational stories (with romance) then picking up this novel is a must. If you’re a fan of small town charm then, yep, you guessed it, read a Tagg novel. All of this and more holds up the specs that are unique to “Tagg branding” in Melissa’s latest novel, Like Never Before. Continue reading “Like Never Before by Melissa Tagg”
