REVIEW | On what should be the happiest day of her life, Lucy Lovett cannot remember a thing. She wakes in a strange place on the floor of a Portland restaurant confused about how she got there – in a wedding gown, no less! Her solution is to call Zac Callahan, the one man she does remember most vividly. But their wedding day isn’t for another several months, which means something she can’t remember has happened. Angry, Zac wants nothing to do with Lucy. But the mystery becomes, why? As Lucy tries to return home – to Summer Harbor, Maine, she finds no one is eager to welcome her back.

A woman who can’t forget the man she loves. A man who wishes he could forget.   Continue reading “The Goodbye Bride by Denise Hunter – A Contemporary Romance about Finding Home and Forgiveness”

REVIEW | Sometimes a wrapping can be deceiving, either for the good or bad. Other times it matches perfectly with the story we are about to step inside. Becky Wade’s novels fall into this ideal with class, grace and romcom bliss. Becky reemerged in the fiction game some five or six years back with the debut My Stubborn Heart, a story about a broken hockey player and the woman who helps him change. Then came the Porter’s, a family comprised of three elder brothers and their young, wild child of a sister Dru. Finally, we are honored to return to small-town Holley, Texas and meet the woman Dru grew up to be.   Continue reading “Her One and Only by Becky Wade – Fall Head Over Heels for This Romance”

REVIEW | Sometimes a novel comes along that delights, enchants and entertains. Sometimes a novel comes along that disappoints and ends in disaster. And then, sometimes, a book comes along that couples only good things and leaves its readers speechless. One such novel is The Lady and the Lionheart. This is the kind of novel that left me nervous to attempt a review because it’s that good. But as I sit down to write out my thoughts in what I hope is a coherent manner, I am again flooded with memories (these few days later) of how memorable this story is. Genre: Fiction; Contemporary Romance

Rating: 5 out of 5

Beckett Walker has spent his life, in some form or another, running away. During his mother’s illness, he struggled to face facts and deal with the severity of his tilted world head on. He left his small town of Maple Valley in pursuit of corporate law, leaving under the most complicated of circumstances. One of those complications is Kit Danby, the best-friend-turned-love-of-his-life. When feelings changed, Beckett left Kit behind for Boston as she left to pursue a life in London. But know both are unexpectedly back in Maple Valley with a second chance in front of them. But what will they make of it?

For anyone who has been searching for the kind of romantic comedy novel that challenges and delights, look no further than Melissa Tagg’s brand of happy. Inside her novels lies a place that’s as cozy as your favorite oversized sweater. The characters will envelop you in the comfort of a warm hug as will the setting and emotions that stem from that center. The third in Tagg’s popular Walker family saga follows Beckett Walker, and it does not disappoint. Continue reading “Keep Holding On by Melissa Tagg – Wit, Wisdom and Winsome Charm”
